Locked on Learning gates the device behind quick, grade-adaptive quizzes — a
learning-gate cycle that earns minutes through
knowledge, not nagging. Native enforcement blocks the workarounds, while a secure
lock-screen path keeps emergencies one tap away.

The core mechanics
Three systems working as one
Learning that earns time, enforcement that actually holds, and a safety path that never gets in the way.
The Learning-Gate Cycle
Device access is gated behind short, grade-adaptive quizzes. Kids unlock minutes by
demonstrating knowledge — recurring check-ins keep learning continuous, not a one-and-done bribe.
Grade-adaptive difficulty (K–9)
Earned-time, not flat limits
Subject mix set by the parent
Bulletproof Device Management
Native Android enforcement runs as a disk-backed service that survives recents-swipes
and host teardown. Workarounds are blocked, and any tamper attempt fires a prompt alert
to the parent dashboard.
Survives swipe-away & reboot
Fast tamper alerts
Remote lock from any browser
Emergency Access Control
Safety is never gated. A secure, always-available lock-screen path lets a child reach
emergency contacts and call for help instantly — even mid-lock — without ever exposing
an enforcement bypass.

How it works
From setup to unlocked, in one loop
Every device session runs the same simple cycle — with two clean outcomes.
1
Parent sets the parameters
Choose subjects, grade level, earned-time amounts and gate frequency from the dashboard.
2
Child opens the device
Native enforcement detects the session and the learning gate engages before apps are reachable.
3
A quick quiz triggers
A short, adaptive check-in appears. The outcome decides what happens next.
Completed → time unlocks
Pass the check-in and the device unlocks the earned minutes, and the next gate is scheduled automatically.
Interrupted → parent alerted
Skip, tamper, or abandon the check-in and the device stays locked while the parent gets a prompt alert — with emergency access always one tap away.

“We built Locked on Learning so screen time stops being a fight — kids earn their minutes by learning, and parents get enforcement they can actually trust.”
— Samuel Robinson, Lead Developer
Getting started
Set up in 4 simple steps
No tech skills needed — most parents are up and running in under 5 minutes. There are just two pieces: a dashboard for you, and an app on your child's phone.
1
Add the parent dashboard
Open Locked on Learning in your phone or computer browser and tap “Install” (or “Add to Home Screen”). It works like an app — no app store needed.
2
Create your child's login
In the dashboard, add each child. You'll get a Family Code and set a short PIN for each kid — that's their login. No email or personal info required.
3
Install the app on their phone
On your child's phone, install the Locked on Learning app. Android-first — Google Play listing coming soon, iOS after that.
4
Sign them in — done
Enter your Family Code, pick your child, and type their PIN. Follow the quick on-screen prompts to turn on protection. The learning gate is now active.
You can change subjects, time limits, and PINs anytime — right from the dashboard.

How we compare
More than a timer
Most screen-time tools count down and block. Locked on Learning makes the time earned — and makes the limit actually hold.

Questions, answered
Frequently asked questions
The things parents ask most before getting started.
Is Locked on Learning free?
Every account starts with a 14-day free trial — no charge until it ends. After that it's one simple family plan: $7.99/mo or $79.99/yr, covering up to 6 children. There's no ad-supported free tier — we don't run ads or sell data — and you can cancel in one click.
What is COPPA, and how does Locked on Learning protect my child's privacy?
COPPA — the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act — governs online services used by children under 13. Locked on Learning is built COPPA-aligned: kids sign in with just a family code and a parent-set PIN — no email, no last name, no photo, and no profile a child creates or fills out. The only child details we hold are what a parent enters: a first name (so the sign-in picker and dashboard show who's who) and a grade level (so quizzes fit). We never sell or share children's data, and you can export or delete everything tied to a child at any time.
Which devices does it support?
The child app is built for Android first — the Google Play listing is coming soon, with iOS in development. The parent dashboard is a Progressive Web App that runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer — no app store needed.
How is this different from the screen-time limits already on the phone?
Built-in timers just count down and block. Locked on Learning turns screen time into something kids earn by passing short, grade-adaptive quizzes (K–9), and backs it with native Android enforcement that survives recents-swipes and reboots — so the limit actually holds instead of being swiped away.
What data do you collect from my child?
Nothing from the child directly — children never type in personal details. A parent enters a first name and grade level (plus optional emergency contacts), and the child signs in with the family code and PIN — not an email. From the device we record learning activity, such as quizzes attempted and time earned, to power the parent dashboard. You can export or delete all of a child's data whenever you like.
Can my child still reach me in an emergency?
Yes. A secure emergency-contacts path is always available on the lock screen — even during a full parent lock — so your child can call you or 911 without any way to bypass enforcement.
How many children are included, and what if I have more?
Up to 6 children are included in the family plan. Need more? Add extra children for $1/mo (or $10/yr) each — the price scales only with the children you actually add.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your subscription in one click from the billing portal. Cancel during the free trial and you won't be charged at all.
